Hi everyone,
I'm really excited that my friend Reese at the Montrose Center was able to get funding to bring my friend TC Tolbert to Houston to work with queer & trans youth at the center. TC will be doing a series of workshops with the youth of HATCH, which used to be an acronym for Houston Area Teen Coalition of Homosexuals, but now is no longer an acronym lol. TC is an amazing poet, human, builder, workshop facilitator, educator, spirit. He also edited Troubling the Line, the first anthology of trans and genderqueer poetry in 2013 from Nightboat Books. You gotta meet him!
Along with the youth workshops, TC is going to do some events open to the community:
1) First, TC will offer a free writing workshop open to the community on Saturday, March 28 to be held at Montrose Center 11am-1pm. No registration required. Just come!
2) He'll also do a "Failure to Identify" brunch reading with the amazing singer/poet/musician Peachy Fingernail at Basket Books + Art. Here is the info:
